The "Solidarity Ride" is an incentive from the federal government to shared use alternating a private car by two or more people to travel together during the rush to work or to school. In general, all participants are owners of an automobile and alternate their use, thus saving on travel expenses, helping to reduce congestion and reducing air pollution and the emission of greenhouse gases.
The Solidarity Fiocruz Carona aims to promote carpooling among employees of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation. The consequences of this service are returned to the population and to own employee who makes use of the service, in two main areas: Green - Through the use of the service it is possible to reduce the number of vehicles, improving traffic and air quality in cities . Economic - With the use of the service can be reduced by up to 75% fuel costs, tolls and other expenses that occur in routine routes or even travel.
Those who adopt the project will have access to the nearest places of your unit. Currently, there are some places for the participants of the Solidarity Carona, but the expectation is that this number will double by the end of the first half and in the future reach 250.
Users can view the routes of the rides offered through integration with the Google Maps tool. The app can be used not only on working days, but on weekends and holidays.
